I studied German at UCSD (Univ.Calif., San Diego) and did my junior year in Munich. That's the year I met my husband and after 7 years of a "commuter" relationship we finally decided on Munich as our home. The first few years were tough for me but now I'm so glad to be living here. It's a beautiful, lively but easy city. Who'd have thought junior high and senior high school German would have been important to me? Our boys, now 20 and 18, have learned English and German the easy way- from their parents- and speak both fluently. In addition they've got Latin and French and Italian. True Europeans!
